Fight like a Christian saved by the blood of Jesus.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
In Ephesians 4:6-7 it says, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ
Do you see yourself as a bulls-eye for anger?
The gut punchers of anger can be lies, deceit and/or greed. Anyone of them or their pyramid scheming affiliates sow seeds that often reaps a bad return quick. If it’s in a Novella, Soap Opera or Action Film, we just see it as part of the plot that paves the way for the hero to flex. Sampson and Delilah, is a famous story of the bible. Sampson was the strong gentle type not be beat because no one knew the secret to his strength. But one day the beautiful Delilah asked and Sampson told. Of course she double crossed him, cut off his hair, the source of his strength and Sampson’s enemies, Delilah’s partners in crime came running to capture the hero.
Can you remember a time when you lied and it costs someone something? Did you feel any regret or were you content because, you got paid for lying or you got satisfaction for continuing the lie? Deceit at any price never provides for a good end.
The fancy word for telling lies is hyperbole, exaggeration, eccentric which is the same as deceit. Either way, it’s irritating and gets folks peeved. Do you have in mind a time you got a little upset about an exaggerated conversation? Famous examples are prank calls from Nephew Tommy on the Steve Harvey Show. But, Tommy always admits to his comical deceit and his partner in crime which is always a family member or friend of the person being pranked.
How many times have you listened to someone getting pranked and shouted oh no, its just a joke, don’t get upset as you yell at the radio or tv? But then, when you are in the real life situation you forget all about the discerning of spirits seeking the truth. You go from full sway, laid back to a fire ball of anger. It’s the possibility of being deceived that cuts you like a knife.
Image GOD, who gave Adam and Eve everything under the sun, and all GOD says, is hey man do not eat my Strawberry cake, am saving it for me and my lady tonight. You ignore that kind command and lick the plat clean.
GOD comes in and notices the Strawberry cake is gone. He asks you what happened. You start lying and saying the woman you gave me said it’s ok to eat it.
GOD then says, the cake was made of dog food. I did not want you to eat it. Lady is a dog I am training. You just ate frosted dog food.
Are you wondering how GOD was able to calmly correct Adam? That kind of calm is something we all desire because when we give an order or request, we expect it to be followed right. Navigating anger is by the grace of GOD. Finding scriptures that help you deal with brokenness which is why people blow up in fits of rage. Trust is broken, fear sets in and viable qualifying solutions are not appearing in your mind.
Aargh, be angry but do not show it. It’s in Ephesians 4:26-27 roughly summarized.
The actual scripture is, “26 Be ye angry, and sin not:
let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27 Neither give place to the devil.”
If GOD can manage anger then am thinking every person can do it.
How often did Jesus’ disciples, his crew, mess up? Peter was always ready to handle things his way or his way, grabbing the wrong net on purpose because he thought he knew better, chopping off the ear of a soldier or getting angry at Jesus for questioning his love and loyalty.
Feeding ship is a non-ending task that comes with a lot of lip and back talk. Are you explosive and opinionated like the old Peter or do you wear the new garment of forgiveness which comes with installed patience, love, compassion from the LORD. All that Jesus has he gave to us. Jesus gave us all that The Father gave to Him. Out heavenly Father is patient with Jesus and patient with man. Jesus does what His Father does and we should live, love and exercise the character of Christ Jesus continually. This is fighting like Jesus, the Christ-ian, is the study of being anointed to serve GOD.
